rollin'

Cars are without exception my least favorite things. The irony in making this fancy tire with high priced rim is that I recently had my wheels stolen off my very inexpensive car. Aged tires, wheels, stock rims, things that hold wheels on...

and nothing says delicious like tire tread. seriously tasty.

hot dogs. delicious.

Hot dogs are a perfect food. Portable. Good ratio of bun to meat. Meat, meaning miscellaneous pork product. Beef if you're kosher, or fancy. Comes with a million condiments to dress it up with... It's best with kraut and mustard. Never ketchup. Ketchup has no place on a hot dog. Period.

Finn.

Lil' Finn celebrated his first birthday!
I made a nautical themed cake, appropriate for one named Finn. It was a great success, out-shined only by the jumpy castle ( and well deserved, cause jumpy castles are amazing fun). He is a kid after my own heart, the only thing he seemed interested in was eating. Seriously. I'm with you, Finn.

Spooky Stomach Ache.

Nothin says Halloween like a gigantic fondant Jack-o-lantern. It's delicious and weighs a ton. The Headless Horeman might need one of these.

Eat lots of candy! I would recommend the Take 5 bar. It has everything you want in one delicious treat...salty pretzels, chocolate, caramel, peanut butter..soo good.

Happy Halloween!

The Oakleys.

A classic American..err...American/English tale. Never seen two smiles so bright, or a flag quite so big...

I was obsessed with making Amy's cake something worthy of a best friend. Which means I spent hours in reverent procrastination, contemplating how I could make a cake that was uniquely "Amy." Not surprisingly, on no sleep and nervous energy I managed to pull off a miracle.
This cake is for my best friend and confidant. Amy constantly challenges me to be better, and her faith in me always encourages me to do my best.

Congratulations Amy and Andy Oakley! Luv U!

e-monkey

I called myself e-monkey as a child. Chimpanzees have always been my favorite. I had a baby chimp named after me at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. (or so my mom told me) I site that relationship as having heavily influenced my behavior as an adult.

Food Network Challenge | Edible Cities

I was fortunate to be invited to take part in the Food Network's Edible Cities Challenge.  Our team representing San Fransisco, battled against a team from Boston to create rice-cereal-treat recreations of our hometowns. We worked hard and had a great design, but we also had some pretty spectacular mishaps along the way. Enjoy!
